What You Eat Can Cause Great Suffering Or Great Health

The very quality of life itself can depend largely on what sort of diet and supplements (if any) one takes. There are countless health foods one should be doing all one can to include in one's lifetime diet regimen, rather than simply consuming whatever comes along. Regardless of what one may be trying to accomplish (such as lose weight, etc.) it is vital that one's nutritional considerations come first.

Mechanically counting calories lead only to temporary weight control, while one's ideal weight and body shape can be far more easily maintained by taking in only wholesome, natural, mostly raw food and supplements. Raw nuts and seed such as almonds, sesame and pumpkin seed (please avoid roasted nuts), for example, may be high in calories, but they are also very filling, high in fiber, and contain many other numerous vital and essential health and metabolism promoting substances and therefore have very little if any effect on weight gain.

Raw fruits, raw vegetables, super foods, antioxidants, dietary supplements, herbs, and ionized water can be used quite effectively to help one find optimal health. Natural remedies are becoming more and more accepted in mainstream medicine as an essential part of healing and can be used as vital tools for one's spiritual, mental and physical wholeness. Herbs have been used for thousands of years to cure all sorts of diseases and they have many other uses too. A huge searchable data base of herbal information resources can be found on the internet.

This health food information is mainly for the most serious and dedicated pioneers on the path to self-healing and enlightenment. I can't guarantee any benefits or 100% safety! This information, although freely given, is offered "as is" with no guarantee of safety and effectiveness, and can work no better than the quality of the products you choose to integrate into your diet. However, it is possible with this information to gain and enjoy utterly fantastic levels of health, healing, well-being and spiritual ecstasy.

Please be sure that there is nothing in the list of herbs, supplements, foods, etc. featured on this page that could cause allergic reactions, interact with drugs that one must take, or create havoc if one is going through pregnancy, or other delicate health situations, etc.

The best and most basic thing one should consider doing first is to always drink plenty of water (best to use ionized or alkalized water, and at least one quart to half a gallon, depending on age, weight, body size, etc.) between meals instead of snacking on junk food or other miscellaneous stuff. The water seems to go down much faster if one adds fruit juices to it such as pure pomegranate, blueberry, cranberry, orange juice, etc. Regular flushing between wholesome meals with large quantities of watered down juices, etc. could help one overcome depression, tiredness and even anxiety. Doing this one thing has always been the single most effective way that I have ever discovered to enjoy many great benefits all over. Why? If not enough water is drunk on a daily basis, toxins from what is consumed, toxins from metabolic wastes, and toxins from other sources can and do accumulate causing all manner of problems. In most cases, it is mainly toxins that are the cause of so many mental and emotional problems, not always mineral and/or vitamin deficiencies.

Everyone has special needs, individual variations and differences. The most obvious difference is male vs. female. Because everything I write here is based on my limited "male" perspective, various adjustments would have to be made for women accordingly. Hopefully the basic principles will always be applicable to everyone, regardless of what sex, body type, metabolic needs, etc. The list of herbs and supplements may appear rather lengthy, however, but in no way are they all to be used at once. Instead just research and take a few of the best (for your particular needs) from each group.

Regarding all the vitamin and food supplements that follow, please use only the ones that you feel are essential to your health and never too much of anything. You could actually feel worse, not better if too much of the wrong herb or vitamin is taken. The supplements may require a significant amount of money to get started on and a certain amount of expense to maintain, so start out slow! Finding them to be too expensive is another good reason to make sure to get only what is essential. Whole, natural foods high in antioxidants or "super foods" are far superior to any fractured or isolated substance, so always choose among these first before trying any single or isolated vitamin, mineral, herbal extract, or chemical substance.

This diet is not designed merely to please the senses, it is meant to completely fulfill all nutritional needs and far beyond, so that one's soul, or happiness is completely satisfied. Supplying exactly what the mind, body and soul needs is far more important, wise and sensible than eating just to please the senses. Life is actually much, much more fun and fulfilling this way.

The good thing about living as healthy as possible are all the illnesses, dental and medical costs that one would most likely be able to avoid. So much inconvenience, expense, pain and suffering prevented! I can tell you this is a fact because I have definitely been able to avoid several decades of of what could otherwise have been high medical, psychiatric and dental costs, suffering, etc. by following this path. Increased libido, rejuvenation, younger looking skin, and greatly enhanced well-being are the main side-effects.

The Diet -- Incorrect Eating is Perhaps the Greatest Cause of Suffering Ever:

The human body is designed only for whole food, especially raw, whole alkaline-forming food. Any fractured or artificial concoctions, fast foods, junk food, too much animal protein, hormones, artificial chemicals, antibiotics, etc. as is often found in the modern American diet (MAD) tend to be highly acid-forming and therefore tend to break down rather than support one's natural healing ability, and are the main cause of vast numbers of diseases, incredible emotional suffering and other complications of physical, mental, and spiritual health that make life miserable. Countless billions and billions of dollars have been spent on medical treatments for vast numbers of serious physical and psychological health problems caused by incorrect eating.

The following information is a list of wholesome, mainly raw food and super-food supplements desperately needed by all people everywhere to help restore emotional, spiritual and physical wholeness to everyone. All of the following nutritional gems provide essential enzymes, antioxidants, and other vital principles needed by the brain, nerves and organs for optimal well-being and functioning:

* Raw Fruits and Raw Vegetables -- Pineapple, blueberries, oranges, chlorella, red onions, fennel, lettuce, beets, and whole ginger. Be sure to have more than a quart of raw juices from a selection of the above listed vegetables and fruits every day! Of all the things one can do to fight depression, fatigue, anxiety and any other health problem, nothing else can replace the benefits of taking in these daily, raw, freshly made blended juices.

* Raw Organic Spring Greens, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Carrots, Squash -- Use as a salad or blend with several tomatoes to create a raw "V8." Some companies provide pre-washed, ready to eat lettuce, chicory, cabbage and other leafy greens in a very convenient package.

* Raw Sauerkraut -- (Fermented cabbage, and other vegetables) an excellent source of enzymes, probiotics, raw vegetables and great flavors.

* Raw Kombucha -- A Chinese cultured tea created from a symbiotic combination of fermented yeast and probiotic bacteria which is an excellent source of enzymes, probiotics, and detoxifiers.

* Brown Rice and Legumes -- This very healthy combination is the most economical, widely eaten source of a complete protein and complex carbohydrates in the world.

* Vitasoy Milk -- Excellent tasting soy milk that can easily be used instead of dairy milk if one suffers from milk sensitivities.

* Organic Hemp milk and Rice Milk -- can be used as substitutes for conventional milk and/or soy milk as some people are sensitive to or have bad reactions to conventional milk and/or soy milk.

* Food Grade Yeast -- Excellent tasting source of phosphorous, B complex, and essential amino acids (protein). Phosphorous is an essential mineral needed in large quantities by the body and nerves that must be balanced out with equal amounts of calcium (see coral calcium and dolomite below).

* Granular Lecithin -- Essential source of phospholipids needed for energy production, brain and nerve functioning. Best to use lecithin granules which has a nutty flavor.

* Sardines -- Excellent source of complete protein, nucleotides, essential oils, vitamin D, and ocean minerals. Sardines are considered an anti-aging food.

*Whole Food Oils -- such as flax seed oil, hemp seed oil, whole virgin green olive oil, and pasture-grazed butter oil (perfect for weight control and mineral metabolism).

* 100% Pasture Grazed Raw Butter -- Organic, fresh, 100% pasture grazed, high in weight maintaining CLA, and high in "Factor X," whole raw butter should be available in most health food stores. I personally find whole, raw butter far more tolerable than cheese and other dairy products that are high in protein. Butter is very high in monounsaturated fats with only traces of protein.

* Norwegian Cod Liver Oil -- Excellent source of vitamin D, A, DHA, EPA, and essential fatty acids. When used in conjunction with pasture grazed butter, high vitamin cod liver oil can prevent tooth decay and help remineralize bone tissue.

* Pomegranate, Blueberry, Blackberry, Acai, Mangosteen, and Noni Juices -- High antioxidant blend of juices among many other benefits, helps to protect eyesight and helps prevent heart disease and other circulatory disorders.

* Raw Papaya -- Papaya when eaten fresh contains many enzymes that enhance digestion and absorption of protein, and if overripe or slightly fermented, it contains many microorganisms that seem to enhance blissful happiness, spiritual, psychic, and sensual energies.

* Goji Berries (Ningxia Wolfberry) -- Best to have in the form of fresh berries or juice. Most potent naturally occurring antioxidant, 500% more powerful than beta-carotene, carrots and oranges. Seems to be able to "fix" injured DNA and build immune system. Helps protect eyesight and is an abundant source of zeaxanthin that helps prevent macular degeneration. Go here to find out more about Goji Berries.

* Raw Adaptogenic Herbs and Super-foods -- Rhodiola Rosa, Ashwaganda, Epimedium, Saw Palmetto Berry Powder, Ginseng, Maca, Turmeric, Chlorella, Green Vibrance (TM), etc.

* Fulvic Acid -- Either in the form of Shilajit or a Fulvic Mineral Complex Ionic Mineral Supplement that contains 70 minerals and trace elements. Drink one two two ounces daily.

* Almonds, Unhulled (brown) raw Sesame Butter, and Sunflower Seed, Pumpkin Seed, Pecans, and Raw Unsalted Peanuts -- All contain wonderful wholesome natural substances needed by the human body.

* Dolomite Powder -- A natural form of calcium and magnesium in an optimally balanced ratio. Dolomite is very inexpensive, has a really refreshing taste, is vitalizing, and is highly alkaline. Drink one teaspoon of dolomite per 1.5 liters of ionized water. Use one to four teaspoons daily depending on how much water taken, weight and need. I discovered that drinking large amounts between meals of a mixture of one teaspoon of dolomite per 50.7 oz. (1.5 liters) of negatively ionized water effective against my own life-long severe anxiety and/or depression problems. Warning: some people may have an adverse reaction to dolomite if too much is consumed such as loose bowel movements, poor absorption of other minerals, flushing, itching and dryness of skin. Therefore make sure that no more dolomite is taken than one teaspoon of dolomite per 1.5 liters of ionized water and always take with water and never alone. One might also add high antioxidant fruit juices, some green tea, etc., some ginger, a pinch of cayenne pepper, and/or two teaspoons of the adaptogenic herb ashwaganda to the 1.5 liters of ionized water and one teaspoon of Dolomite Powder for an enhanced well-being effect.

All of the above items when used as the main part of every meal and/or drink every day, because of their satisfying flavor, detoxifying, high enzyme, antioxidant, biochemical and biological value, can help fight fatigue, depression, poor appetite and digestive problems in a more effective manner than any other combination of foods, supplements or antioxidants ever taken. Malabsorption of minerals, vitamins, etc., and toxic and odor forming microorganisms in the digestive tract are a very common problem. Stools should be odorless! Any unpleasant odor in breath or eliminations indicates suboptimal health, poor digestion, and even disease. For one who is wasting away and/or not thriving the above combination of metabolic, probiotic and digestive enzymes can be a real lifesaver. During periods of stress and/or illness, a mostly liquid diet with mineral broths seem to work much better and faster to restore health, energy and vitality.

7 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Coconut Oil

It is a common misconception that coconut oil is bad for you. People all over the world are experiencing the healthy benefits of using coconut oil. It is actually one of the healthiest oils you can consume. Here are the top seven reasons why you should use coconut oil as an alternative to other common cooking oils.

1. Coconut oil doesn't turn to fat in your body.

Unlike many other common oils, like soy (vegetable) and corn, coconut oil won't make you fat. Coconut oil contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), which are an easy fuel for the body to burn, without turning to fat. Most other cooking oils and fats contain long-chain triglycerides (LCT). LCT's are usually stored as fat. Since coconut oil is a MCT, it is more easily absorbed and converted to energy quicker.

People in the tropics have relied on coconuts as a traditional staple in their diet for centuries. They consume large amounts of coconut oil every day. Instead of getting fatter, it helps them stay healthy, lean and trim. When they switch from coconut oil to our modern oils, they develop obesity and the health problems that our modern society faces.

Some other people who have known this truth for a long time are people who are in the animal feed business. When livestock are fed vegetable oils, they put on weight and produce more fatty meat. When they are fed coconut oil, they become very lean.

2. Coconut oil increases your metabolism.

Not only does coconut oil convert to energy quicker in your body, it increases your metabolism, which promotes weight loss. Because it boosts your metabolism, it helps your body burn fat more effectively.

Coconut oil may triple your calorie burn. Since coconut oil is a MCT, it is converted to energy so quickly that it creates a lot of heat. In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, MCT's burn three times more calories for six hours after a meal than LCT's.

The February 15, 2005 issue of Woman's World magazine stated that coconut oil is the "underground high-metabolism secret."

This is great news for people who have thyroid problems, since coconut oil improves sluggish thyroids by stimulating the production of extra thyroid hormones. Most other common oils, like vegetable (soy) and corn have been shown to inhibit thyroid function.

3. Coconut oil has omega 3 fatty acids.

Most cooking oils contain omega 6 fatty acids, something we get way too much of in the United States. Our omega 6 to omega 3 ratio should be 1:1 but it is more like 50:1. We need to drastically cut back our omega 6 oils and consume much more omega 3 oils to be healthy. And coconut oil is filled with these healthy omega 3 fatty acids.

4. Coconut oil gives you energy.

Because of the healthy omega 3 fatty acids and the fact that it increases the metabolism, most people that switch to coconut oil feel a burst of added energy in their daily life.

This is because coconut oil is nature's richest source of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT's), which increase metabolic rates and lead to weight loss. MCT's promote thermogenesis, which increases the body's metabolism, producing energy.

Many people with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia have found that adding coconut and coconut oil to their diet was helpful to them, too.

5. One of the best things you can use on your skin and hair is coconut oil.

Coconut oil one of the best things you can apply directly on your skin and hair. It gives temporary relief to skin problems like rashes. It aids in healing and restoring skin to a younger appearance. It has also been known to help with people who suffer from yeast infections in the skin, as well as many other skin problems.

Not only does is soften and smooth your skin, coconut oil has antioxidant properties that protect the skin from free radical damage. Coconut oil makes excellent massage oil too.

6. Coconut oil has healthy benefits that most other oils do not.

Evidence is mounting that coconut oil has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral effects when both consumed and used topically on the skin.

Most oils oxidize and turn rancid very quickly causing free radical damage in our bodies. Coconut oil is not easily oxidized and does not cause harmful free radical damage like polyunsaturated vegetable oils. Free radical damage is thought to be responsible for many ailments in our body from arthritis to increased susceptibility to cancers.

Coconut oil also helps our bodies absorb other nutrients more effectively, such as Vitamin E.

7. Coconut oil is one of the best oils you can use for cooking.

It has a higher smoke point than olive oil, which means it can take higher temperatures better. There are several healthy omega 3 oils we can choose to consume, such as flax and olive oil, but they don't do well under the high heat we use for cooking. Coconut oil can be used in higher cooking temperatures.

It is harder for coconut oil to go rancid, unlike other cooking oils, which are usually rancid long before you even bring them home. Rancid oils cause free radical damage in the body, which is a leading cause of cancer. Coconut oil is stable for over a year at room temperature.

Because of the misinformation we have been given for years, we have lost out on the healthy benefits that coconut oil has given the people of the tropics for centuries. But now it has been rediscovered! Coconut oil is so effective, it won't be long before we see coconut oil supplements promoted, but you can get the jump on the popular crowd and start consuming and cooking with coconut oil today!

How to Lower Your Triglycerides

A part of being healthy is taking an all round approach to your lifestyle change. If you lead a healthy life style in general you are not going to have to worry about this, your body naturally sorts itself out. However, high triglycerides are a problem that many people suffer from, and it is important that you understand they why and how. The main form of fat in foods is called triglycerides. Our blood contains certain levels of triglycerides. However, if you consume more bad calories than we need, our body will transform the excess calories into triglycerides and be stored as body fat. It is more common to see high triglycerides in overweight people. High triglycerides are associated with increased risk of heart disease.

Your body has endless storage space for this fat. Some of these triglycerides are not stored as fat, but remain in your blood stream. Excess levels of triglycerides thicken your blood, which increases the possibility of clotting and blockage which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. This is why it is doubly important to know how to lower your triglycerides.

High triglycerides are usually caused by other conditions, like:

Obesity
Poorly controlled diabetes
An underactive thyroid.
Kidney disease.
Regularly eating more calories than you burn.
Drinking a lot of alcohol.
Healthy lifestyle choices are the key to naturally lowering triglycerides

Exercise regularly: aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity at least five or more times a week
Choose healthier fats: avoid trans fats, limit saturated fat found in meats for healthier monounsaturated fat found in plants, such as olive, peanut and canola oils. Substitute fish high in omega-3 fatty acids - such as sardines and salmon - for red meat. Food labels should tell you what kind of fat you are eating. Choose nonfat or low-fat dairy products.
Include high fibre foods such as wholegrains, oats, fruits and vegetables.

Limit sugar intake such as soda, cordial and other sweetened beverages

Limit alcohol: Alcohol is high in calories and sugar. If you choose to drink, try mixing it with low calorie beverages such as tonic water, or diet soda. Alcohol consumption can raise triglyceride blood levels by causing the liver to produce more fatty acids.

Cut back on calories. Remember that extra calories are converted to triglycerides and stored as fat. Watch your portion sizes.

Keep a healthy weight. Often losing as little as a 5-10 pounds can help lower your triglyceride level

Quit smoking

A healthy lifestyle takes an all round approach. If you lead a healthy lifestyle in general, eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, exercise regularly, and make the right choices, then it is likely that you won't have to worry about excess triglycerides. Stay healthy and make changes for life, and you will see the benefits.

If you need to diet, take it slow. Seek out a proper diet that you will lose over a period of time. Exercise is great but if you are just starting, again, take it slow. Too much exercise, when you're not used to it, can be harmful.

We now have greater awareness of our bodies through the sciences, the media, etc. The benefits of a healthy life are obvious to us all. To achieve the healthy life is not done by simply going to your local pharmacy and picking up some drugs.

A healthy life and a happy life is a combination of many things acting together. Because of the way our foods are grown and processed today, we need to start with a good, all natural supplement. The next ingredient is eating proper, and in proper portions. And, of course, along with these is proper and limited exercise.

It doesn't just stop with what to do... now comes when to do it. To maintain the healthy life and happy life, you cannot take a nutritional supplement once in a while, eat proper foods now and then, and exercise a couple times a month. This is what people do that always ask the question, "Why am I not losing weight?"

Once you start a routine, stay on it. Not for a week or a month, stay on it... period.

Think about this, you will not only look and feel healthier, your new eating and exercising routine will also reduce your risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease. You will see other benefits like, reduced costs of health care, reducing illnesses and injuries, fewer visit to doctors, etc.

Diet and exercise will lower blood pressure, reduce weight and lower the risk of developing diabetes. Exercise and a healthy diet helps the body use insulin more efficiently and can help control, reduce and prevent many diseases. Exercising, eating foods high in fiber, weight control, and learn to deal with stress, reduce the risk of heart disease.

Also... If you eat healthy food, exercise and pay attention to your body you will certainly life a longer, healthy and happy life.

Living healthy is important for everyone. This is a truth with which no one can disagree. And the matter is not that you will live longer due to following instructions for a healthy life. The matter is in the quality of your life: it will substantially improve. You will be living a healthy life and thus feel happy, work more efficiently and be able to reach the goals you set.

A few tips to follow:
If you want to make your meals healthier, forget the fast food and ready-to-cook meals. They have artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives that your digestive system will not like. By staying away from these products, you will pretty-much have no choice but to eat more vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, cereals and dairy products. You don't need a rigid diet, just proper portions of healthy foods plus your all natural nutritional supplement.

Only one more thing to remember, walking. Walk a lot. It's very good for you and your metabolism. Park your car out farther in the parking lot and walk. Do this at work, at the shopping mall, at the grocery store, everywhere you go. Not only is this good for you, it will also save a few dents in your car from other car doors.

Have a healthy life and a happy life.

Eat Spices to Lose Weight

Did you know that in addition to being very healthy, certain spices can actually help you lose weight? Some spices work as an appetite suppressant and some aid in fat digestion.

Here is a list of seven of the top spices that will help you with your weight loss efforts:

1. Black pepper - This well-known and frequently-used spice will boost your metabolism. The peppery taste of black pepper comes from piperine and this substance is said to stimulate the central nervous system. It is believed that this stimulation of the nervous system is actually what gives pepper its metabolism-boosting characteristics. Fresh ground pepper is the best to use because it contains the most piperine.

2. Mangosteen - This spice is also known as vrikshaka or garcinia mangostana. Mangosteen is very popular in India. This spice suppresses the appetite and also helps to stop your body from storing fat.

3. Cayenne or Chili pepper - There was a study done in England that showed when the volunteers ate a teaspoon of red or cayenne pepper with every meal, they had a 25% increase in their metabolism. It is believed that if you eat hot and spicy food, you will drink more liquid to cool your mouth and because of the additional liquid you are drinking, you will feel fuller faster. However, because the participants had a 25% increase in their metabolism by eating the red pepper, it shows that the pepper is actually working in the body to assist the calorie-burning process.

4. Ginger - Ginger is believed to boost a person's metabolism and it also aids in digestion. To effectively lose weight, your digestive system must be working properly. All you need is a teaspoon of fresh ginger or less if you use dried ginger to achieve the benefits.

5. Turmeric - Turmeric in food gives the food a yellow coloring and it helps to reduce the body's absorption of fat. The active substance in turmeric is curcumin. When curcumin was given to mice, it reduced the growth of their fat tissue.

6. Cinnamon - Eating cinnamon will regulate your blood sugar and help your body to digest carbohydrates. The cinnamon also increases the body's production of insulin, which, in turn, accounts for its role in carbohydrate digestion. It will also help lower your cholesterol.

7. Mustard - In the study mentioned above with the cayenne pepper, the participants also ate a teaspoon of mustard with every meal. The whole-grain or Asian varieties of mustard will help to burn fat. Mustard also contains selenium which helps to regular blood sugar. Selenium is also used to aid in weight loss.

In addition to eating these spices to lose weight, they are also very flavorful. So, if you are eating low-fat and low-calorie foods to lose weight, eating them will add a lot of flavor to otherwise bland food.
